Just a note on your discussion on FFG’s tournament system for Netrunner. There aren’t any qualifiers or anything like that for any of the levels of tournaments, anyone can just rock up and play (the exception being World Championship which you need to preregister for due to a limit to the number of players in the tournament – anyone can preregister though).
The big advantage of winning Store, Regional and National tournaments is that they qualify you for a double win (ie Corp and Runner win) with best count back bye in the first round of the next tournament level up. So it’s not restrictive to participation, just advantageous to win a tournament.
